South Asian Development Fund (SADF) SAARC |
:: Opportunities for Investment in New Projects ::
South Asian Development Fund (SADF), an umbrella fund of SAARC, was established in 1996 with the merger of two SAARC Funds. the SAARC Fund for Regional Projects (SFRP) and the SAARC Regional Fund (SRF). All the SAARC member countries are members of SADF. The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) is working as a Nodal DFI to SADF for Bangladesh .
The main objectives of SADF are to support industrial development, poverty alleviation, protection of environment and promotion of social and infrastructure development projects in the SAARC region. SADF activites are carried out under three windows:
(a) Financing of techno-economic feasibility studies,
(b) Projects pertaining to institutional/human resource development and
(c) Social/infrastructure development projects.
Under Window -I , the SADF has financed 14 (Fourteen) Techno Economic Feasibility Studies (FEFS) for establishing new projects in the SAARC region of which the following 9 (Nine) projects are related to Bangladesh but are also expected to benefit One or more other countries of the SAARC Region.

The above Techno Economic Feasibility Studies have been carried out by a number of renowned consultants' groups of the SAARC Region. The prospective sponsors (individuals, institutions: both private and public) who are willing to make use of the above TEFS Reports to set up in SAARC Region covered by the studies may kindly approach ICB at the following address for further information.
